Lesson Options

Carol offers piano lessons tailored to each student’s age, ability, and goals. Choose the lesson length that best suits your needs.

30-Minutes - Standard

Suitable for most beginners from age 6 and over, including adults, for at least the first 2 years of learning. It will cover all the basic piano playing skills including foundational technique, interpreting music notation (repertoire), aural training and music theory up to and including Grade 2 level.

45-Minutes - Intermediate

From Grade 3 – 5 level, pieces become longer, technique more demanding and background musical knowledge that much more important. To give adequate time to cover these aspects each week, 45 minute lessons are recommended.

60-Minutes - Higher

At Grade 6 level and above, the demands of piano playing and musicianship again become more demanding, and a longer weekly appointment is recommended to cover all bases.

Other Options:

20-Minutes - Beginner/Extra/Theory

This option may be suitable for a very young beginner needing a more gentle introduction to learning the piano for the first term or so.

It may also be a useful as one-off booking for Theory or a Rehearsal before a performance.

40-Minutes - Standard Plus

An enquiring beginner wanting to take more time, or a keen student of Grade 2 – 3 level will often benefit from an extra ten minutes to allow for the opportunity to go deeper, or work on supporting skills such as aural, sight reading and creativity.
