If for any reason you are unable to have Studio lessons in person, there is the option to study remotely. Whilst the quality of communication can never be quite as good as the real thing, virtual lessons do offer the the convenience of learning in the comfort of own surroundings. Students 16 and over can register for one-to-one lessons on-line, in Piano or Theory of Music. Younger students will need to use a parent's account. However, online lessons are not really suitable for under 9 year olds, except for one-off situations and with adult supervision. It depends largely on your home setup and quality of connection. Lessons take place using video links and ‘VOIP’ technology, so there should be no call charges. You will need a static device such as a tablet or laptop, close to your piano. Ideally your camera will show your hands on the piano keyboard and hopefully your face as well! The student needs to be able to see my camera view clearly, and of course, be able to hear me, for adequate communication. A parent holding a phone tends not to work so well, especially if they are moving about, since the student's engagement is likely to be limited on the one hand, and my view may also be limited. Online lessons and consultations For one-off consultations regarding a specific problem, please book a 15 minute session. All other lesson lengths and prices are the same as in the Studio. Fees - 15 minute session - £9.50 - 45 minute lesson - £27.00
